Global Competition in a Multipolar World: From Marco Polo to the OBOR Initiative and the New Silk Road

IE’s London office welcomes you to meet IE faculty, IE alumni and our local team.

In the final event for the academic year hosted by the IE London office, IE Professor Fernando Cortiñas will be speaking about how globalization is forcing managers to think about the world as one, single market. However, the term ‘one global market’ is not a synonym for ‘uniform’ or ‘homogeneous.’

Diversity in terms of ethnicity, wealth, culture, values, religions, etc., makes marketing across borders a difficult task that requires a multidimensional approach and a big economic investment as we as in terms of effort and talent. Governments are becoming key players in supporting national champions and competition is being held far beyond the notion of ‘nation states,’ as we know it. Companies do not compete against companies, and not even countries are competing against countries on an individual basis. Trading blocks are becoming a must to compete nowadays. The IE team will be offering individual consultations for those considering applying to IE who would like to go through queries and questions on a one-to-one basis.

There will also be an information session introducing IE and our methodology, as well as the option to take the IE Admissions Test, all available on the same day.

The master class will be followed by a networking cocktail where you will be able to continue discussions with our professor and meet IE alumni.
